Give it up for your 2012 TPS Team:

What a night! 350 people packed the Royal, and the whole night was pure fire. Thanks to the BAM! showcase, we got the evening started right, with some incredible poetry from Mango, Simba, Jubilee and Ambrosia. That team piece really got the crowd energized.
Then the first round hit our faces with full force, as Spencer bit the bullet and dropped a rockin piece but got hit with a 1point time penalty. Tanya gave us two new poems in the night, and had some of us in tears (no joke). Cathy told us about an odd bar encounter, Noah confronted his sexuality, David Delisca flowed with the best of em, and Britta B brought the heavy with a fierce piece about domestic abuse. The P.O.E. reminded us about his nature's need for a better makeover in the second round, and Eytan rapped his way into our hearts with pieces about his dad and gettin a comedy degree.
And what a feature we got! Kay'la Fraser delivered a tour de force set that earned a standing ovation, telling us about precious love to the value of slam poetry to a poignant tale of a homeless woman in Kensington Market. Get her merch now, she's amazing!
When the dust settled, a team had to come out of this incredible night of poetry. And the scores played out thusly (adding semis + Finals scores):
The P.O.E - 109.3
Britta B - 108.7
Cathy Petch - 105.3
Eytan Crouton - 104.4
Noah - 104.2
Tanya - 103.9
Spencer - 100.7
David Delisca - 100.5
So that's your team, and you'll be hearing a lot more about them in the coming months.
See you at our next slam, our first open slam in awhile, on May 13 at the Drake, featuring Arianna Pozzuolli!
